Tony Dowthwaite Lighting Design is an established, award winning lighting design consultancy, operating independently since 1999. Tony’s experience in this specialised industry over the past 25 years has shown his work manifest extensively throughout Australia and the South-East Asia region.

            The focus of the TDLD office is Architectural Lighting, incorporating both interior and exterior schemes. The company’s underlying philosophy is to provide a personal service based upon innovative techniques, collaborative design and supportive, detailed documentation. Given these objectives, our reputation for on-demand quality has established a work base which is extremely broad and ranges from large scale hotel/resort and apartment complexes to public areas/facilities and luxury homes.

            We have a strong belief that lighting should be a carefully considered factor within the design process of building interiors, exteriors and external landscapes. This is well reflected in much of our work where concealed indirect techniques predominate. We have excellent knowledge of the practicalities involved in fixture concealment within ceilings and walls, enabling us to provide unique lighting solutions to suit interior specifications.

            Our knowledge of the most current, quality fixtures and light sources is an important aspect of our business. In order to stay in touch with both regional and international trends we request and encourage our local lighting representatives to give regular product update visits to complement our frequent travel and enthusiasm for excellence.
